a) Lou Reed, The Velvet Underground, Richard Hell & The Voidoids
b) Mozart
c) Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry
d) Brownie McGhee, The Allman Brothers
e) The Rolling Stones, The Who, Thin Lizzy
f) Man of La Mancha
g) Kruder & Dorfmeister, Massive Attack
h) Primal Scream, Bon Jovi, various "crap" music (Thin Lizzy might belong here, who knows) that somehow is enjoyable despite being devoid of "quality." See any of my iTuneage lists for further clarification. To quote the late, great Robert Quine: "I like junk."
These are my influences, anyway. Hard to know if this is how readers of my poetry would feel.
need some time to sort of make a list of all the bands / songs / ppl i have ever listened to, & it probably illustrate something so vast i have not a chance
steve: for this reader of yr poetry, i'd give an absolute yes.
good to hear from you derek. i've also realized the futility of listing influences since they are so vast, yet i can't help it. i like lists, and i like to know what others like.
