munchies [1987] 

i love this roger corman cheap-ass knock-off of joe dante's gremlins [1984] about as much as i love dante.  why?  perhaps i watched it on cable around 1988 about a million times.  perhaps it is because of the searing crush i've had for actor nadine van der velde who portrays the girlfriend of the erstwhile goofball hero played by charlie stratton.  whatever the reason, i can't recommend this flick unless you are a real cinephile masochist.  reportedly shot in about 14 days this movie was meant to be as cheap as it looks & plays.  i bought the DVD many many years ago.  why, because i hate myself.
