has this happened to you
after a long day at work you sit down to write out the idea that sprang to mind at lunch & which has been buzzing all day like a shit-house fly but when it is time to write after dinner & clean-up & the hugs for your wife & son you now have the time to sit down & stretch out & explore the idea but you now have forgotten what the hell it was about

always carry a little notebook with you
i use the notes app on my phone now. haven't kept a notebook in some years. but even tho i use the notes app as a commonplace book i forget to write down lines &/or ideas regarding poems. except for today. was watching a john carpenter film which gave me an idea for a poem. broke out the app & sketched out a couple of ideas. but otherwise, i'm a forgetful bastard who thinks he can remember even the smallest details & thoughts. but can't.
