masters of horror intro



masters of horror was a TV horror anthology that aired for two seasons, 2005 - 2007, on the cable channel showtime.  it was the brainchild of filmmaker mick garris who thought up giving his friends & fellow horror movie-makers an hour-long format for an original story.  the ranks of great scaremeisters like john carpenter, tobe hooper, wes craven et al. took up garris' challenge & created some damn fine TV.  you can find the series on various streaming platforms & on dvd.  but for me the spookiest part of a spooky show should be its intro, & masters of horror piles it on.  almost all of the well-known horror tropes are found in this little piece of film.  i love its music & that very last image of a hand twitching as the psycho killer blurs into the background is brilliant.
